Artist's Description
I was struck by the play of the greyed blues on the misty mountains contrasted with the warm golds where the land was being hit by the breaking morning sun. Towlsey Canyon in Santa Clarita is a very popular destination for people to reconnect with nature. The orignal of this painting was donated to the Santa Clarita Aritsts' Association to help raise funds for the annual Art Classic for the purpose of supporting the high school scholarship.
About Sandy Fisher
As a child I was always surrounded by intriguing colorful layouts, eye catching compositions, and the smell of paint. My father, a teacher of sign painting for over 25 years, inspired my creativity and imagination at a very young age. My pastimes then involved many forms of art including drawing, painting, scratchboard, wood burning, macramé, needlework, stained glass, and photography. I developed a natural eye for composition, which I apply to my photography and to my current endeavor of painting with watercolor and oil. I truly believe that a great photograph begins with the ability to "see" beyond the norm into the infinite beauty and mystery of the subject matter.
