Artist's Description
Just on the southern outskirts of the town of Bishop in the Owen's Valley is this lovely area of trees, chaparral, and glorious mountains. In the late afternoon, one is rewarded with this golden glow over the landscape. I was especially enthralled with the bright yellow on the tree against the backdrop of the mountains in shade.
About Sandy Fisher
As a child I was always surrounded by intriguing colorful layouts, eye catching compositions, and the smell of paint. My father, a teacher of sign painting for over 25 years, inspired my creativity and imagination at a very young age. My pastimes then involved many forms of art including drawing, painting, scratchboard, wood burning, macramé, needlework, stained glass, and photography. I developed a natural eye for composition, which I apply to my photography and to my current endeavor of painting with watercolor and oil. I truly believe that a great photograph begins with the ability to "see" beyond the norm into the infinite beauty and mystery of the subject matter.
